Definition

In games with the commodity speculation mechanic, players bet on different commodities in hope that that particular commodity will become more valuable as the game progresses.

Values of the commodities are changing throughout the game, and the players buy and sell the commodities to make money off of their investment.

In some type of games, players can influence the value of the commodity.
